Colette A.M. Phillips - President & CEO
Described as "savvy," "dynamic," "a pioneer" and "visionary," are terms often used to describe Ms. Phillips who refuses to be defined by traditional barriers of gender and race. A risk-taker and enterprising person, she pioneered diversity and multicultural marketing in New England. Building bridges between different cultures and fostering mutually beneficial partnerships and alliances are the hallmarks of her personal and professional life.
She is a tireless social entrepreneur, a connector and advocate, civic leader and champion for the development of women and people of color. She co-founded the Black/Jewish Economic Roundtable, in partnership with the Boston chapter of The American Jewish Committee devoted to fostering economic cooperation between the Black and Jewish communities.
In 2000 and 2006, she published Kaleidoscope, Boston's first multicultural resource directory. Boston Magazine hailed it "the ultimate networking tool, for people left out the network," She was listed one of the 40 Most Fabulous People, One of the 100 most Powerful women in Boston, and One of Boston's most powerful people by Boston Magazine, listed as one of the 100 Most powerful people in Boston, by Boston Herald. Spring 2008 she launched Get Konnected, a monthly cross-cultural professional and social networking event, which The Boston Globe calls "an ethnic rainbow of Boston professional and business leaders." Fashion Boston named her One of the 100 Best Dressed Bostonians and the Boston Globe listed her One of the 25 Most Stylish People in Boston in 2008.
In 1998, Ms. Phillips wrote and published 21 Steps for Women to Win, a compact inspirational guide for women entrepreneurs and professional women. She has received numerous awards and citations for her personal and professional accomplishments including: The American Jewish Committee's National Community Civic Award; the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce's Pinnacle Award for Achievement in Business; The Publicity Club of Boston's Crystal Bell Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Field of Public Relations. The Lady Baden Powell's Good Scout Award for her community and civic award. The Renaissance School's Living Legend Award; Emerson College has honored her with both a Distinguished Alumna Award and an Alumni Recognition Award. The New England Council's honored her with its Women in Business Leadership Award; in 1988 The Boston Jaycees named her one of Ten Outstanding Young Leaders and the YWCA of Boston named her to the 1999 class of its Academy of Women Achievers.
